The bulls pushed the blue-chips to new 52-week and 4-year highs but the bears were able to cut the gains in half by the close of Tuesday’s session. The indexes got off to a rough start but the spike off the lows lasted until lunchtime before a late day fade in the final hour of trading. The end result was a classic short-squeeze.
