The bulls had a huge Tuesday despite the dirty sheets in DC that has led to a government vacation, uh, shutdown.
It is amazing how the priorities in Washington become so clear when the zombies get something taken away from them. A day after not coming to an agreement on a budget, a bill will be passed or attached to make sure government workers get their back pay. One zombie from Texas called it a “vacation” for those that are not working. These are not our words, we just report the facts.
We didn’t take a head count of the number of zombies that said they would forfeit their pay as there were quite a few of them that said they would if there was a shutdown so we guess they are on the honor system. As far as the work stoppage, word is there will be a quick resolution. Meanwhile, in “our town” some of the local plants are having their annual healthcare meetings and rates are up. The reps also cannot give the workers an exact premiums and there is a lot of confusion on the HMO and PPO plans.
The ObamaCare exchanges opened yesterday and it was much of the same chaos. We aren’t sure if the President’s plan will work or not but we do know that companies are only giving 30 hours a week around the country as they have found yet another way to shed costs (and employees) to pad their bottom lines. The one big change we have seen with America over the year is that there is no loyalty in KEEPING workers. There are still great companies to work for, especially the ones that are still paying their worker’s healthcare, but dedication and commitment have gone out the window pn both sides.
All we can do is hope the knuckleheads in DC comes to grips at some point as current predictions are it will take America over 500 years to pay its $17+ trillion in debt. The circus is in town that’s for sure but it is time for the zombies to get some work done. Just don’t hold your breath.
We hate talking politics but now that we have got that off our chest, let’s go see what the bulls did on Tuesday. (continued…)
